Lent

I’m not even Catholic, but I’ve decided to take part in Lent this year.

For those of you who don’t know, basically you give up something important to you for 40 days and 40 nights (not including any Sundays that pass during that time). It’s supposed to prove to yourself (and/or God) that you can overcome your desires, and that you can go through with your vows/promises (since like everyone’s failed their New Years’ Resolutions by now). It starts on Ash Wednesday (which was Feb 25th this year) and ends on the day before Easter.

Some people give up little things, like Coca-Cola or candies. Anything that distracts you, or that you’re obsessive over, or that you tend to crave is a good candidate. My best friend gave up music a year or two ago, and she said it was hard.

I’m giving up Video Games and the Mabinogi World wiki. I’m one of the top contributors to the wiki, and I monitor every change made to it. I’m quite OCD over it. It’s my baby. And that’s why it has to stop.

It’ll have to survive without me for a month or so.

With all the free time, I plan to:
a) study more (I got a 7/12 on my last calculus-based physics exam, which actually somehow turned out to be an A- with the T-score grading scale, but still, that 7/12 was waaaaay low.)
b) read more books (currently reading in Fantasy: David Eddings)
c) work on comic!!!! I’m so behind =(
d) read the Comics Curmudgeon every day
e) religious studies? We’ll see ^^;;
f) Megacon tomorrow!

Seesaw Event

There’s a Seesaw event. If you get high enough, you get a Cow Robe.

First, though, I wanted to show of Charleh’s final stats.

And he’s only age 4, so he still has a lot of aging bonus to get. He has rank 6 of all combat skills, except Defense, which is 7 because I got tired of leveling him (he’d get it at 52).

I love my high level pets.

Also, that’s the sheep robe I got from skiing. It’s semi-hideous, but could be worse.

Anyway, for the seesaw event, basically you talk to Duncan, the chief at Tir Chonaill, and then go to the General Store. It has an “Event” tab, and that’s where you’ll find your seesaw kit for 200g. It’s pretty big.

I didn’t take many pics of it, though.

You have to click to jump, and try to time it so that you jump right as your partner jumps. If you do it right, you go higher. Eventually, your seesaw will break and you’ll have to buy a new one (so you can’t just keep going forever until you get the prize).

Unfortunately with the lag, we failed miserably. I never got higher than 11m, and 12m is needed for the basic prize, a random gift bag.

Herro got one and gave it to me. It had a White Herb in it. Eh, I guess I can use it to repair an ego weapon …

By the way, the Cow Robe is pretty ugly, so it’s no big loss that we didn’t get one. I don’t have a pic of it, though. Not many players I saw had it.
